The International Congress on Rural Evangelism is a sustained approach at Sensitizing, Motivating, Educating and Mobilizing God’s people for involvement in God’s heartbeat for His Church in this end time. The dire necessity for urban ministry, its burden on time and personnel seem to have moved the Church into forgetting the rural dwellers and their need for real, strategic communication of the Gospel of Salvation in this hour of need. Negatively, it seems to also leave the rural dwellers in the hands of spiritualist and religious manipulators who both confuse and exploit them for selfish ends. In the light of these we over the years have been involved in organizing Rural Evangelism Conferences that brainstorm on how to take the unreached rural communities for Christ.
iCORE is a Non-Governmental, Trans-denominational, Non-profit, Christian Coalition committed to a fourfold emphasis on Rural Evangelism and Development, Discipleship, Leadership Training and Prayer for World Revival. It all began with a command of God to raise an army for the end-time harvest which is not limited by the boundary stones of denominationalism. It was an encounter with the Lord which changed our view of man, to see each man and woman as a potential soldier no matter his physical predicament.
iCORE operates a back-to-the-Bible policy which calls for a redefinition of diverse Christian construct with the Bible as the only defining instrument. Sensing that we already have too many groups in the name of Church, iCORE is a conglomerate of like-minded groups, Ministers and Christians who sense the need to reawaken the Church to her responsibility of global discipling through inductive and intensive Biblical studies.
Our Vision is the transformation of the rural areas and dwellers into vibrant soldiers of the Lord who are rooted in His Word as committed disciples involved in discipling others. Men and women who through faith in the Word of God, fervency in prayers, holy living and tender hands raise a loving, caring, sharing, community of spiritual parents who spiritually structure the end-time movements of God and radiantly await the rapture of the Church. We hope to become a largest community of disciple makers in Nigeria, winning the world through our immediate environment and impacting the Church with our gifts and plunders of our warfare.
Our mission is built around our fourfold emphasis by which we seek to prepare a healthy and mature Church that Jesus will come to rapture. These emphasis are:
The high pursuit and demand for urban ministries have succeeded in leaving our rural areas as a perpetual mission field. The rural areas hold no attraction to new generation ministerS in enhancing their fame, finance and crowd so it is neglected.
The area is now in the hands of old untrained men who have less to offer to the seekers of God because of their lack of proper understanding of the Bible. With the kind of preaching prevalent in the rural areas, iCORE can say that ninety percent of the rural dwellers cannot differentiate between “come to Jesus” and “come to Church”.
We are committed to reaching these people through our Next Village Crusade and other personal evangelism initiatives.
By iCORE understanding, Jesus last words to His apostles recorded in Matthew 28:18-20 is a command to disciple to which evangelism is only a process.
We believe that the dire need of the Church today is a correct understanding of the discipling injunction of Jesus and to be involved in it; since as we say, “evangelism without discipleship is the Great Commission half done”.
To change the train, iCORE is involved in organizing training in the area of disciple making and encourages her people to be involved in spiritual parenting of converts in order to help them within their unique settings.
iCORE commits herself to the training of ministers through serious collaboration with different schools – Pioneers School of Missions, New Life Theological Seminary, Discipleship Training Institute etc; and different products of the Congress – The Pastor’s Church, monthly pastors summit for mentoring and ministerial encouragement.
The future of our country is also dependent on the kind of leaders we have. To contribute to the shaping of the nation’s future, iCORE is involved in building of qualitative Christian Schools where the Bible is the basis of life shaping.
The pastors and missionaries need prayers as well as the world. The world is awaiting the last flash of a God-sent revival that will usher in the parousia.
This glory we want to see and also be part of that great team that ushers it in. To pray for the ministers and for end time revival, iCORE raises prayer groups everywhere and encourages Christians to meet for prayer wherever there are two or three of them.
Once in a year, “the Minister Cries”, a ministers prayer retreat gathers pastors to the camp for prayer and to prepare for the coming year. It’s always a very rewarding time.
Our annual programs are listed below:
This is a minster’s prayer retreat that holds every first week of December.
